About The Music Salon

Located in the heart of Madeira, The Music Salon was started by guitar teacher Sean McGary in 2011.  After teaching in music store chains for several years, Sean became disillusioned with the typical approach to learning guitar before deciding it was time for a new approach. And The Music Salon was born.

The Music Salon offers an environment where students would feel welcome and at home, taking pains to avoid the typical, sterile, and impersonal vibe of most music stores. Students are encouraged to learn in the way that makes the most sense for them instead of being forced into a methodology.

Music is supposed to be fun, and at the Music Salon that's how we teach it.
